Charni has been belly dancing since 1994 and teaching belly dance since 2003. She started her training in Adelaide and after moving to Melbourne started her own school, Happy Hips Belly Dance, which now runs classes in Endeavour Hills.  She also teaches workshops regularly, and is in demand to perform or teach at birthday at hen's celebrations.

I was interested to read Charni's blog post about how she made the transition from dancer to teacher.  In many ways, it echoes the journey of Sydney dancer Shemiran - noticing the lack of analysis in traditional belly dance teaching,  and realizing the need to break down and explain the moves.  Shemiran responded to this by creating a teacher training course - Charni responded by creating an online belly dance school, where students all over the world can benefit from her teaching method.
